On June 21 was the launch of the recycling campaign «Tarapoto changes, I want you clean» campaign promoted by the Universidad Peruana Unión (UPeU), the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of San Martin, with the aim of emphasizing responsible recycling in the city of Tarapoto and its various districts.
This initiative aims to educate the population on recycling and responsible reuse of plastic, paper, cardboard and wood waste. In addition, the campaign is extended to the business sector to reduce the environmental impact of the region.
The participation of the UPeU Campus Tarapoto also took place through the manufacture of 34 recycling garbage cans, which were made in the digital manufacturing laboratory (FAB LAB) of the Professional School of Architecture.
In this regard, the Architect Jhon Harol Gonzales, coordinator of the aforementioned school, said that «these garbage cans have been manufactured with the intention of being delivered to an association of motorcycle taxi drivers and thus prevent them from continuing to litter our streets. In addition, they contribute to the promotion of the institutions involved in the campaign».
For his part, Architect Tedy del Aguila Gronerth, provincial mayor mentioned «It is all of us with our actions in favor of the region and the city we want to see» and thanked the participation of the institutions.
It is through these activities that the UPeU Campus Tarapoto seeks to convey its philosophy of environmental care and strengthen relations with institutions through the axis of linkage with the environment.
