Colegio Unión de Ñaña, application center of the Universidad Peruana Unión (UPeU) achieved the international accreditation from the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA) with a qualification of Excellent, on May 19th.
In a protocol ceremony held at the John N. Andrews Auditorium at UPeU, the AAA Evaluation Committee met with representatives of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the north of the country, Edgardo Muguerza, Director of Education; Accountant Isaí Chanducas, Assistant Treasurer of the Educational Area; and Judith Larios, Pedagogical Advisor.
Also present were Dr. Raúl Acuña, UPeU’s Academic Vice Rector; Dr. Carlos Corrales, Mr. Adolfo Zafra, Pr. Víctor Ynfante and Accountant Antonio Jara, Colegio Unión’s administrative staff.
At the meeting, six areas were evaluated, such as: leadership, administration and legal aspects; information on educational needs; pedagogical aspects and human resources development; denominational aspects and community action; physical structure and equipment aspects; and financial aspects.
After reviewing all the items, the evaluation committee gave Colegio Unión a qualification of Excellent and approved the accreditation for the years 2021-2026.
It is important to highlight that accreditation seeks the continuous improvement of educational quality in educational institutions operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church worldwide. If an institution is accredited by the AAA, it means that it provides an education of solid academic quality and has sufficient resources, programs and services to achieve institutional goals.
In this sense, this application center of the Universidad Peruana Unión bases its pedagogy on values and principles: humility, equality, generosity and integrity, which are applied in the academic experiences of each student. In this way, it renews its commitment to provide pedagogical quality for the integral formation of its students.
Congratulations to the entire administrative team and faculty of Colegio Unión!
