The Peruvian Union University promotes and raises awareness among its students on mental health issues in order to prevent emotional problems.
Therefore, on Thursday, April 15, the Psychological Counseling Program of the University Welfare of the Peruvian Union University (UPeU) led by Mg. Yeny Quea, Coordinator of the program, began the day with online talks on mental health 2021 with its first virtual workshop entitled «Healthy eating in university students».
The speaker was Dr. Ruth Quiliche, UPeU professor, who explained the importance of having a healthy diet because «it provides our body with the nutrients needed to preserve life». She also shared the foods which should be consumed such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, tubers, roots, legumes, seeds, oleaginous fruits and water. In addition, she shared models of healthy dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The event was held in two groups (morning and afternoon) and was attended by 122 participants, including students, professors and directors of professional schools.
In this way, the online day talks will present various workshops of importance and will be given by specialized speakers on topics such as:
– Ideas to develop an adequate self-esteem
– Emotional wounds and repercussions in youth and adulthood (depression)
– Pornography, masturbation and sexting
– Exercise as an influential factor in mood
– The power of video games
– Relaxation techniques
– The danger of drugs
– Etiquette in social networks
– Partner jealousy
– Music and its influence on behavior
