On Monday, April 26th, the Universidad Peruana Unión (UPeU) held a virtual inauguration program to officially kick off the celebration activities for the anniversary of its 102 years of institutional life and 38 years of university life.
The program was broadcast through the social networks and virtual platforms of this house of studies with the participation of students, alumni of all times, the administrative and academic staff of the UPeU and Colegio Unión, the institution’s application center.
Also in attendance were the distinguished leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Peru.
During the opening ceremony, the classic torch relay took place at Colegio Unión, where the principal, Dr. Carlos Corrales, handed over the torch to the students representing the school.
The torch was then handed over to Dr. Gluder Quispe, Rector of the UPeU, who gave it to the Union students representing the three campuses Lima Juliaca and Tarapoto.
The students carried the torch to the Cuncacucho hill where they proceeded to light the official torch for the beginning of activities in the framework of the institutional anniversary.
The lighting of the torch represents the light of Adventist education, a light that shines in the midst of the situation we are going through. We have the hope of a better tomorrow.
It was certainly a special night with the greetings of each of the deans of the five faculties and directors of programs and areas of the UPeU who expressed their gratitude to God for being part of this educational work that over the years has formed people with principles and values to serve the community.
