Graduate researchers publish an article on Attitudes and Practices of Hygiene and Food Handling during the global pandemic
Elizabeth Cahuana Díaz and Ivone Revoredo Torres, graduates of the Human Nutrition Professional Career, as part of their research to obtain the professional title under the modality of thesis in article format, and the Mg. Jacksaint Saintila, advisor and Research Professor at the «Universidad Peruana Unión», published a research article entitled “Evaluation of hygiene and food handling attitudes and practices during social isolation due to COVID-19 in Peruvian Households: a cross-sectional study”.
The research was carried out in the context of the global health emergency due to COVID-19, since it affected almost all areas of people’s lives, focusing on the way food is prepared.
Therefore, the research aimed to investigate the attitudes and practices of hygiene and food handling during social isolation.
538 people over 18 years old from all regions of Peru participated in the study through an online survey of fifteen questions.
The results showed that the participants demonstrated a positive attitude and were aware of the good practices of preparing food at home.
It is important to mention that the article was published in the Food Research magazine, a magazine located in Q3 which presents topics on Food Sciences.
