The Peruvian Union University Juliaca Campus and authorities of the National School Feeding Program Qali Warma of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, signed the meeting minutes of working meetings on September 1, where it was agreed to carry out joint actions to optimize the food service in Puno region.
With the signing of the meeting minutes between Midis Qali Warma and UPeU, it is aimed to establish joint actions to achieve greater benefits for users of the school food service and implement actions to ensure strengthening abilities of the people involved in it, within the framework of the educational strategy «Eat Healthy with Qali Warma», and the adoption of healthy eating habits.
In addition, this agreement will allow the collection of information from the beneficiary population for research purposes by this higher education institution. In this regard, The Peruvian Union University, through the professional schools of Food Industry Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Nursing and Education, will carry out activities which will strengthen the ability for parents who are part of the Program and also to different participants involved in the provision of food services, as well as the promotion of healthy eating habits, in the context of health emergency in which we live now.
Dr. Luis Eddie Cotacallapa Subia, General Director of the UPeU Juliaca Campus, highlighted the importance of these agreements which will allow in the short term to improve the service provided by both institutions. He also thanked the disposition of the Kaliwarma Puno program that will provide support to university students for the implementation of educational modalities to raise this awareness to the families, among other points of common interest.
